MK8 0.3mm nozzle for low-friction extrusion and better wear resistance

The Micro Swiss MK8 Plated Wear Resistant Nozzle 0.3mm is an MK8 style nozzle built from 360 brass and finished with TwinClad XT coating. It is designed to provide very low friction during filament flow while improving abrasion resistance for more demanding 3D printing materials.

Key features of the TwinClad XT plated nozzle

  • MK8 style nozzle: Made for printers and hotends that use the MK8 nozzle format.
  • 0.3mm nozzle diameter: Suited to finer extrusion than larger standard nozzle sizes.
  • 360 brass base material: Uses a brass body as the core nozzle material.
  • TwinClad XT coating: Features a nickel composite coating designed for very low friction.
  • Very low coefficient of friction: The coating offers one of the lowest coefficients of friction, better than nickel with PTFE co-deposit.
  • Hard, abrasion-resistant surface: The plated finish is designed to resist wear from more abrasive filament blends.

When to use this wear resistant 3D printer nozzle

This plated MK8 nozzle is intended for users printing abrasive filaments that wear standard nozzles more quickly. If a print setup regularly uses carbon fibre, stainless steel, wood-filled, or other metal-filled filaments, the abrasion-resistant coating helps greatly improve nozzle life.

The 0.3mm opening also makes this nozzle relevant for prints that need a smaller extrusion size while still benefiting from a wear-resistant surface. That combination makes the nozzle useful for makers and professionals working with composite materials that can shorten the service life of ordinary brass nozzles.
