Canadian Yellow HTPLA Filament – 1.75 mm, 1 kg

Our Canadian-made HTPLA offers industrial-grade performance for the most demanding applications, combining high heat resistance with simplified printability. Designed from a high-crystallinity PLA resin, this filament offers the ease of printing of standard PLA while achieving a glass transition temperature of approximately 85 °C — and much more after annealing. Ideal for end-use parts, functional prototypes, jigs, and tooling that must maintain strength and shape under heat or load.

  • High Heat Resistance: withstands temperatures up to 85 °C and can gain more after annealing.
  • Increased Rigidity and Strength: improved mechanical stability compared to standard PLA.
  • Easy Printability: prints like PLA on most FDM/FFF printers without an enclosure or specialized equipment.
  • Local Canadian Manufacturing: reliable quality, consistent performance, and quick availability.

Annealing Process to unlock the full potential of HTPLA. Annealing increases crystallinity, improving heat resistance and dimensional stability. Follow these steps:

  • Preheat your oven or water bath to 80–100 °C.
  • Place the printed part flat (or in water for uniform heating).
  • Anneal for 20–30 minutes.
  • Cool gradually to room temperature before handling.

Ideal for:

  • Functional prototypes requiring increased heat resistance.
  • End-use parts exposed to heat, friction, or sunlight.
  • Jigs, tooling, and fixtures used in workshops or industrial environments.
  • Educational and research laboratories exploring high-performance materials.

Tips for Best Performance:

  • Print with moderate retraction and slow cooling for better layer adhesion.
  • If warping occurs during annealing, support parts with sand or salt to maintain shape.
  • Store the spool in a dry environment — PLA-based materials can absorb moisture over time.

In summary, when your projects demand more than standard PLA, turn to our Canadian HTPLA. Combining the ease of printing of PLA with the robustness and heat resistance of an engineering-grade material, it is the ideal solution for functional, heat-resistant parts and durable applications.

Recommended printing settings:

  • Extruder Temp: 210–230 °C
  • Bed Temp: 60–70 °C
  • Cooling: 50–100% after the first layer
  • Enclosure: optional, but helps with more uniform inter-layer bonding

Filament characteristics:

  • Diameter: 1.75mm (±0.05mm)
  • Weight: 1kg
  • Material: High-crystallinity PLA (HTPLA)
  • Tg (Heat Resistance): ≈ 85 °C unannealed, higher after annealing
  • Made in Canada
  • Vacuum-sealed with desiccant for moisture protection
